AKC Canine Good Citizen
The American Kennel Club’s Canine Good Citizen is a certification program that promotes responsible dog ownership and rewards dogs for good manners at home and in the community. CGC is a logical group dog training foundation class for therapy or service dog work, competitive dog sports, tracking and performance events. CGC is a fun next-step class to continue your work on basic manners.
CGC Class is open to dogs who have completed a basic obedience or manners class. Dogs must be friendly toward other dogs and people. All dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test (administered at the end of the class series) may receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club. Prerequisite: Prerequisite: Good Manners or prior approval.
AKC CGC class meets for 6 weeks on Tuesday evenings at Peaceable Paws. Look for new classes to begin in early January 2018.
